Since it was for medical reasons, did they discharge him honorablly? This way he can keep his benefits?

Also Antisocial disorder, isn't as bad as it used to be, therapy does wonders. So do drugs. (like legal drugs I mean)... basically it sounds worse than it is. It's just fancy words to say he's a bit of a loner and has possible anger issues.

Is it like a traditional respiratory infection? Like something you could get anywhere? If so, he will be fine....

Or is it something he caught in the Army like overseas or something, because depending on other factors then it *might* be something to worry about.

though, I just realized you probably don't know the answers to these questions...so I'm gonna guess... I am sure he will be ok. Big hugs.

He was still going through boot camp at the time. And they took like 12 vials of his blood to create a vaccine for it. And from what I heard, they never told him what was wrong until they discharged him.

It doesn't surprise me that they didn't tell him what was going on until they discharged him. At all.

however, did they tell him they took that blood to make a vaccine? because that just sounds fishy to me. Most vaccines aren't created using actual blood, just antibodies created from the blood, and even those are usually synthasized and not natural... So I am a little frightened by that.

That's actually a true story... Back during WWII the Allies (yes, Allies, not them guys with the one with funny facial hair) experimented with nerve gas and all sorts of other nasties in Australia's wilderness... Google it...

I do feel bad about your friend tho... Hope he's OK... And as Morrigan said... All them fancy words mean he's probably just a bit of a loner who might have a bit of a temper problem caused by depression... Nothing some pills and a weekly visit to your neighborhood-friendly shrink can't fix...
