| Has anyone else played this? I'm a pretty big fan of strategy games and this is just an amazing one that I've been hooked on ever since I got it. | |

| I made a new dynasty as a count of Desmond (Small county in Ireland) with a created ruler. Counts are pretty hard to start out as because you start out with no vassals, no help from other kingdoms, etc. And you're confined to one little area, so you gotta be careful. I went on about 40 years or so and managed to take over all of Ireland. (There was no original kingdom of Ireland at this point so it was mostly non-united counts, making it much easier to take over.)
After that my first ruler died. My second ruler was issued in more of a rebuilding period, getting our armies big and economy good to go and invade Scotland. Requested an invasion from the Pope and went in there to attempt to take it over. My ruler died in battle right in the beginning of the war. His 15 year old son took over (Who soon proved he was a fucking badass).
Under the new ruler Ireland took over all of Scotland without them even entering our territory. We went under another small rebuilding period to prepare to invade England and secure all of the UK. (England was in the middle of a war, and our army outnumber them 5 to 1). We got England easily, and thus, was able to turn the Kingdom of Ireland, into the Empire of Ireland. All while we still have our badass 3rd ruler.
Here's when things started going wrong however. It seems like when you get a big ass empire, it gets hard as hell. I had to deal with vassals revolting pretty often, even when I made them the happiest sons of bitches in Europe. But I always ended them really quickly.
I started getting greedy however, so decided to try to issue a holy war on Spain considering Spain got completely overrun by Muslims while I was dealing with my empire. (Holy wars can be brought on against anyone who has a different religion than you, and you get to keep most of the land you siege. This is awesome compared to other wars, you need a reason, unless you ask the pope for a straight up invasion.)
So I make the mistake of calling a holy war on all of Spain, thinking I wouldn't have to worry about Muslim reinforcements from their mainland.
Motherfucker I was wrong.
I went on to taking most of Spain. Life was good in the Empire of Ireland. We had more land than basically anyone. But then, 1/3 of my vassals decide to revolt, my army was still recovering from the huge Spain holy war. I thought I could beat them pretty quickly regardless. Until.
MOTHERFUCKING UNTIL.
ALL OF THE FUCKING MUSLIMS DECLARE WAR ON ME.
ALL OF THEM.
So now I'm in a fucking pickle. It wasn't just a Muslim kingdom that was pissed at me, oh no. It was their entire. Fucking. Religion.
So now I not only have to worry about my vassals (WHICH ARE THE BIGGEST SUPPLIERS OF MY ARMY) revolt against me. I have the Muslims packing millions of soldiers en route to my mainland.
It was fun though. I do feel like I somewhat won the game in the end. I went from a lowly count of a small county, too motherfucking emperor, in around. Oh say 80-100 years I would say. My dynasty didn't go too long, but it went strong. (lolrhymes)

| Soo... How exactly do you make off with waging war on an entire kingdom/empire for the full of their territories? I managed to get myself in a war with Scotland for some irrelevant county, but I can't conquer the full of Scotland, even though I've occupied it entirely... | |

Go to the King of Scotland's character sheet and request invasion from the Pope.

I don't think he really cares about the anti-pope. It may be your traits, popes and bishops will fucking wet themselves over you if you have the seven virtues and the "good guy" traits. Or maybe you've broken a lot of treaties when gaining land. Just hover over his opinion and see why.

Yeah... Assassinating is a risky thing. The only guaranteed way to kill someone is to imprison them and execute them, and that just pisses off some of your other vassals (Depending on the circumstances).

The only guaranteed way to kill someone is to imprison them and execute them, and that just pisses off some of your other vassals (Depending on the circumstances). Exactly what happened... I probably would have gotten away with just one Bishop... But I went off and executed my entire clergy in an attempt to get rid of my antipope... Moral of story- don't set yourself an antipope...

You... Killed all your bishops?... Yeah... Umm... I set one as my Antipope cause he loved me (opinion at 100) but then I kinda needed to invade Scotland... So I needed the real pope's approval... So I offed my pope... But apparently I had another bishop who loved me more than Jesus, so he was set as my antipope by default... By the time we got to Antipope 3, the Kingdom was already split into 10 different Pretenders... So can I play it or can I play it...

I never really have problems with my bishops or the pope (Probably because I've won like 3 crusades for him). But there's always, ALWAYS, one little fucking vassal that is an extreme bitch and doesn't pay his taxes. I'm not worried about those kinda guys revolting though, I can draw 90k soldiers from my vassals atm If they all revolt on me at once I am fucked though. So I have to keep them happy.

I hate rebels. They are the bane of my existence in every Paradox game, but they aren't too bad in CK2.
