| I did my Speech final where I had to give a commencement address, I gave my speech and the whole class gave me a standing ovation, then the Speech teacher pulled me aside and accused me of plagiarism.
Well I got a 99 so I guess it was all good.
Speech to increase my epeen:
The parable of the velveteen rabbit demonstrates that often times it feels that, while we are students, we are more like toys who are played with by our parents, teachers, and ‘college paths’. So as we finally grow up and get to be adults, we get to become more than just shiny toys; we get to become real. It begins with where we want to go to college. It’s the first choice we make in becoming adults. We get to choose how we really want to live our lives. We get to choose simple things such as where we want to eat, how we want to dress, and what our major is. We also get the opportunity to learn and to better ourselves in ways that we want to, so that we can become whomever we want. It is within that journey that our true transformation unfolds. Children stories are often easy parables to understand during commencement addresses. The overwhelming fear of the unknown slithers between seats and raises a scaly head, a forked tongue lathering fear on the students. Don’t, don’t fall back into nostalgia. Don’t wish for a time when the decisions were not spreading out into infinite tree branches . Don’t wish to sit on a shelf and watch the other toys leave. Sure the mechanical stoic toys can shine and gleam for eternity, but is it life to sit on a shelf waiting for someone else to move you? You can sit on the same bus seat and always stay shiny and never age as your life atrophies to that one seat on the bus. That one seat where you can see a road that may look a little shabby and there is one too many discarded soda cans, yet at the end of that road is a house. A house that someone bought without their parents’ consent and lives with someone they looked for and paid for this life with the money they earned. The house may have faded from a red velvet color to a peeling paint. The children may have left and gone to college. The dog dead and buried in some lot. The car missing a starter. But if you stop that bus, and you get off that seat and walk to the door stepping over the tacky plastic turtle and through the knee high grass, you will find the owner. The owner tells you about his faded shaggy life as you sit on his termite-eaten porch and watch the sun set. His voice is garbled and coming through a poorly trimmed mustache. He will tell you that he has lived his life. He has made his mistakes and passed his time. Overall he was successful in his journey and though it was painful and left him withered he wears a smile. He is not resentful of his life since it is the one he chose. It is with his eyes that you should look back on high school. You may not have chosen to go to our high school or you may not have gotten into your first choice college. You did decide what you did with your time here. Look at back how you navigated the halls or ran from Baxa during lunch. Look back at those assignments that made your teacher sit down and go “Wow,” whether it was because you turned in a work that excelled all previous notions or simply because you turned in your work. High School though was filled with restrictions that may have bugged you as slipped off campus as a freshman or watched the upper classmen flash their off periods. High school can be controlling as you abided to stringent rubrics and merciless tardy bells and Staples. Now that is all over. Now you can be free from sitting on the shelf. You can finally see how it was all worth it.

If yer only in HS it doesn't matter much... but be ready to actually put forth effort in higher education. Employers and Investors are kinda important once you get into the real world... and presentation and speech are required for that.

You might get a stroke in the cafeteria (seeing how cafeteria food is) and experience an Epiphany upon which you realize you've always wanted to be an astrophysicist... OR... Like I said- redundancies... And not in the good way...

OR... Like I said- redundancies... And not in the good way... There's this thing called college. You go to it to learn about specific subjects and if you wanna be something learn about it! Besides all that, I've learned more from the internet that from school.

Besides all that, I've learned more from the internet that from school. OK then... Here's an example: I know how a nuclear reactor works thanks to four years of physics in high school. I can also tell you how much 1 Astronomical Unit is in kilometers, 1 parsec and 1 light-year as well, without checking on Wikipedia. I can tell you the basic principle of a Hadron Collider and list you most of the basic particles (Higgs boson, neutrino, muon, those little bastards), that thanks to me taking physics as a major (or whatever) the last of the four years... I am currently in law school. Explain the relationship between those.

And here I was thinking my country's education system had too many redundancies... That's... not what speech is... at least not what you think we're talking about. >.< And redundancies... do you know how many racial, multi cultural, and ethnic classes they shove up our bums here? Enough to make a person WANT to be racist.

And redundancies... do you know how many racial, multi cultural, and ethnic classes they shove up our bums here? Enough to make a person WANT to be racist. No, I get what 'Speech Class' means... They try to prepare you how to make a 'good' presentation, by which I mean they drill you in making some sort of stock, 'off-the-line' type presentation that's supposed to tell employers and investors you once took Speech Class so you might be somewhat better off at giving a stock, off-the-line presentation. They do that by saying there are certain rules and criteria that need to be followed when making such presentations... And while I do agree on some points of this kind of Ford assembly line approach (there are some rules that need to be followed and excessive creativity is often frowned upon), I consider it as having an overall negative effect in quashing any feel for the need of creativity and imagination when it comes to making a presentation of one's self... This goes for all those religious, racial and whatever classes you mentioned...
