It's depressing to see how inactive it has been recently. I mean, everybody is pretty much primarily posting in the never ending thread now and there's not enough people here to make this place really booming. We need to find some way to bring more people here before this place just fades into nothingness...

I know for a fact that a lot of boards out there are thriving because of how many people are there. We just need to get back into the game and pull people here. However, where we obtain these people might matter, because we don't to end up pulling in douches like those at Selkath.

I understand that people are busy these days, but it doesn't seem like they're rarely at their computer anymore. I know most of you are still dicking around with your computer. I don't know how we …

Happy New Year OT! We may be dying... BUT WE'RE STILL HERE! We had an... interesting year last year. Vice Admin Burkman is taking a long earned vacation and Uly is stepping into his position. Well... I'd have more to say but I've got other things to do atm... and oh yeah... to quote Callin... "GET A MIC YA BUM!"

I found this earlier today, it's a pretty interesting documentary on the life, death, and slow resurrection of punk rock. You guys should watch it, even if you don't like Punk. Learn something new.

My dad listened to all of these bands back when he was a kid. Got me hooked when I was a kid, too.

Greenday is barely even considered punk. The only good punk is 80s punk. And especially if it's hardcore punk.

* Green Day.

Most people either love or hate them. They are among the big 3 in Punk Rock, besides The Offspring and Rancid. They sort of brought it into the mainstream media. Their newer stuff is good too, but not as "punk" as their older.

The three big punk bands? Are you joking? The Ramones. The Clash. Sex Pistols. They all started the scene. And then came the 80s where the hardcore scene played in. You wanna talk punk, know your roots.

I meant to word that differently. The Sex Pistols, The Clash, and The Ramones were the big three that truly gave Punk rock a name...Rancid, Green Day, and The Offspring brought it back after it was lost for a while and re-invented it's look.

No need to get all factual.

Boy, I'm hardly a hipster. Back in the day, The Ramones, The Clash and the Sex Pistols were pretty well known. I like a lot of underrated bands that people haven't heard of, but I'm not a hipster if I want to unearth these bands and share them with the rest of the world. Bands like The Accused, etc. Even though The Accused is Thrash Crossover, which is essentially a mix of Thrash metal and hardcore punk.

Also, you forgot Bad Religion. I don't know how you missed that band. They also played a major role in the revival of punk. And they formed in the late 70s. Also, the good name of Punk has been ruined by the shitty punk bands of today.

Rancid, Green Day and The Offspring proved that Punk could be made in a factory and sold to isolated youth.

They're the bands that let people consider Alkaline Trio punk, I wouldn't really consider them punk.

Punk is made in a trailer and sold on a tape behind a bar where underage and overaged men and children drink.

This. Sure, I like old Offspring, but they can't hold a candle to the other punk bands I like in the older days.

Also, before you say anything, the song in my sig is psychobilly. No relation to punk.

I'm not a huge fan of Offspring and Rancid either... but I hate Greenday... nothing of theirs is good.
