Le 2012-2013 NBA season EmptyThu Apr 02, 2015 11:06 pm by Burkman
It's depressing to see how inactive it has been recently. I mean, everybody is pretty much primarily posting in the never ending thread now and there's not enough people here to make this place really booming. We need to find some way to bring more people here before this place just fades into nothingness...

I know for a fact that a lot of boards out there are thriving because of how many people are there. We just need to get back into the game and pull people here. However, where we obtain these people might matter, because we don't to end up pulling in douches like those at Selkath.

I understand that people are busy these days, but it doesn't seem like they're rarely at their computer anymore. I know most of you are still dicking around with your computer. I don't know how we …

Le 2012-2013 NBA season EmptyWed Jan 02, 2013 2:56 pm by Scott
Happy New Year OT! We may be dying... BUT WE'RE STILL HERE! We had an... interesting year last year. Vice Admin Burkman is taking a long earned vacation and Uly is stepping into his position. Well... I'd have more to say but I've got other things to do atm... and oh yeah... to quote Callin... "GET A MIC YA BUM!"

Who do you guys think are going to take it all this year?

It looks like the Heat are set to win at least for the next 2 or 3 years... But I wouldn't count the Thunder out of it yet.

Celtics look pretty good this year as well. They got some nice players over the draft and free agency. I'm also looking forward to see how Brooklyn and Houston are gonna turn out.

Thoughts?

My opinion on your comments:

1. The Heat have an OLD bench. While they have an amazing starting five, they don't have bench support. I don't know if they will win this season.

2. The Thunder... this is their final year of relevancy in my opinion. Next year, either Serge Ibaka or James Harden will be gone. I think the addition of PJ3 was a good one, and they have a chance THIS YEAR to win it all. I doubt they will in the 13-14 season.

3. Celtics did add Sullinger, Melo, Courtney Lee, Jason Terry, and the like. But, KG is older and so is Paul Pierce. Rajon Rondo does squat on offense. If they can score points, they can win the NBA championship. Their defense is not their worry.

4. Brooklyn has done well. I'm betting on Conference Semifinals for them. But they need Kris Humphries back to solidify their rotation. And some bench help.

5. Houston WILL NOT MAKE THE PLAYOFFS. They were centered around trading for Dwight Howard, and now since the Magic are holding back, they're stuck with three rookie forwards, no true center, and Jeremy Lin. Lin will not replicate his numbers, and they have no shooting guard. They will have a lottery pick next year if they don't waste it on Howard.

1. An old, but effective bench. Adding Ray and Rashard this year through free agency was a brilliant move. Two more sharpshooters to replace Mike Miller, and they can both do wonders on offense. Battier can still play solid perimeter-D, and they've got Norris Cole who looks like he could develop quite nicely as a player.

2.Yeah, PJ3 was the steal of the draft. Assuming Ibaka and Harden are willing to accept less money, they look to be set for the next several years. They've got a good, young group, and if they can develop and build chemistry together, they'll win a championship very soon.

3. Agree with everything you just said. I want to see KG play like he did in the playoffs. If he does, they're a top 3 seed for sure. And I'm not sure pick Fab Melo was a good choice. He has potential, but I'm not sure if he's going to live up to it.

4. Not really feeling Brooklyn. They're an interesting group, but I don't think they'll be a great team. They're just throwing money away because of their billionaire owner, and with all the money they've spent, they could've put together a much stronger group.

5. Houston could be a contender once all their young players are NBA-ready. I agree about what you said about Lin, not replicating his numbers, but I still think he could be a 15 point, 7-8 assist, 2 steals a night kind of player. But definitely not the 25 points, 10 assist beast he was during Linsanity.

And let's not forget about the Raptors! We just stole Kyle Lowry from the Rockets. We get that Lithuanian centre, Jonas V. from last years draft this season. Terrence Ross is great offensively, which is just what the Raptors needed. I want to see how much DeRozan got better over this summer. I'm hoping we can compete for one of the lower seeds in the East.

Dwight Howard to Lakers...

Favorites in the west, I would say. Only real competition for them in the west are the Thunder.

1) You should have a porcupine shoved up your ureter for using "Le"

2) Lakers, Heat, Bulls, and Thunder are the only 4 teams you need to know at the moment.

actually, scratch the bulls, unless their bench can fill in for Rose

1) no u

2)Their bench took a major hit. I could understand not matching Asiks insane offer from the Rockets, but they just let CJ Watson, Kyle Korver and Ronnie Brewer go. Silly GM.

And the Heat clearly look set for a repeat. Adding Allen and Lewis was just icing on the cake.

2) trutru. I also want to add the Celtics, b/c I think that, assuming his back is fine, Jared Sullinger can be a major sleeper.

Yeah, next to Perry Jones, I think Jared Sullinger was the biggest steal of the draft. But I'm not sure about how many minutes he'll be getting... He's going to be competing with KG and Bass for minutes at PF.

Jeff Green is getting back from heart surgery as well. If he was there for the conference finals, I think Celtics would've beat Miami. Oh well.

It's time toplay: OVER-UNDER

OVER/UNDER: 40 games missed by Bynum due to injuries?

I'm more concerned if he can handle being the #1 option. He'll get more then his fair share of touches in Philly...
