The inactivity of this forum.

It's depressing to see how inactive it has been recently. I mean, everybody is pretty much primarily posting in the never ending thread now and there's not enough people here to make this place really booming. We need to find some way to bring more people here before this place just fades into nothingness...
I know for a fact that a lot of boards out there are thriving because of how many people are there. We just need to get back into the game and pull people here. However, where we obtain these people might matter, because we don't to end up pulling in douches like those at Selkath.
I understand that people are busy these days, but it doesn't seem like they're rarely at their computer anymore. I know most of you are still dicking around with your computer. I don't know how we …
Happy New Year OT! We may be dying... BUT WE'RE STILL HERE! We had an... interesting year last year. Vice Admin Burkman is taking a long earned vacation and Uly is stepping into his position. Well... I'd have more to say but I've got other things to do atm... and oh yeah... to quote Callin... "GET A MIC YA BUM!"

They got like 2000% on their Kickstarter! (And I missed it...) Gonna be out in two days! Which is too fucking long...
Here's the game's site: FTL! They got a neat little trailer there... The STEAM page for the game is here (has nice screenshots): FTL on STEAM
The game itself is gonna be for PC (Windows), Linux (including Ubuntu and most other Linux-based OS's) and Mac OS. The PC and Mac versions will be available from STEAM, with the Linux version available on the site (along with PC and Mac versions, which would probably require STEAM). If you buy from the site, you also get a STEAM code so you can switch platforms without having to buy it more than once.
Price all-round would be around $10.
Here's some videos to get you excited...
TB's 'WTF is...' spotlight review:
And some nerds playing the game in a two-part series:
All you need to watch is John's bit, but the Nerd stuff is also... relatively amusing...

I've had a run-in with TB, as well.
I contracted it from a badger bite.

*goes to get Jesse Cox's "nerds" sign*
Seriously though, I'm almost interested in the game even though I can't tell half of what TB is talking about when he goes into Nerdesse. I'm just not sure if there is enough strategy in it for me, but I would love to watch a series of videos on the adventures of the HMS TGS. Something tells me that Ensign Cox will be a problem child or red shirt...

Apparently the on-site release is gonna be a bit sooner than the STEAM one (oh Steam...)... I hope their site accepts my credit card... Lest I be forced to force-feed my wallet to my laptop and hope for the best...

Well, I am gonna be playing it on my Ubuntu partition, so that'd be a no... Also- buying from the site makes sure all the money you pay goes to the indie devs... As much as I like Steam and Valve and Gabe... Supporting indies is closer to heart... Plus, Steam has the bad tendency to not like my cards when I'm outside the UK...

If you can get it off the website instead of Steam you should. You can almost always get a Steam key after that. So, now you are directly registered with the website and you are registered with Steam. You can download through Steam latter if you need to. In this case though, it's a single player only game which means there is no advantage to the Steam version. Might as well get it without Steam's DRM.
