The inactivity of this forum.

It's depressing to see how inactive it has been recently. I mean, everybody is pretty much primarily posting in the never ending thread now and there's not enough people here to make this place really booming. We need to find some way to bring more people here before this place just fades into nothingness...
I know for a fact that a lot of boards out there are thriving because of how many people are there. We just need to get back into the game and pull people here. However, where we obtain these people might matter, because we don't to end up pulling in douches like those at Selkath.
I understand that people are busy these days, but it doesn't seem like they're rarely at their computer anymore. I know most of you are still dicking around with your computer. I don't know how we …
Happy New Year OT! We may be dying... BUT WE'RE STILL HERE! We had an... interesting year last year. Vice Admin Burkman is taking a long earned vacation and Uly is stepping into his position. Well... I'd have more to say but I've got other things to do atm... and oh yeah... to quote Callin... "GET A MIC YA BUM!"

Look, soup... it's like your father is gone all your life. You haven't seen him since age 10 and he walks through the door one day when you're 14 and you both know full well he's only there for 1 or 2 days and he'll be gone for another couple of years after that. Why should we shower you with our undying love and affection? Maybe you should hang around more often...
Long story short, DEAD! DEAD MAN WALKIN! We got a dead man walkin, here!

I've seen my father maybe 4 times in my life. He visited for maybe 2 days at a time, years apart. The last two visits were when I was 14 for 3 days, I think it was... and 9 years old for 2 days. I kinda wish I could tell you I didn't care, but I WAS always excited when my dad came. SO FUCK YOU, CALLIN, YOU JUST LUCKY! YOU JUST LUCKY!
Look... look...... look... it's more like how my mother would see it. Why do you give such a damn when he's never around anyway? Maybe a different analogy is in order. Soup is an ex-girlfriend who left and visits maybe once a year and expects you to be overjoyed she's returned and put your unprotected penis in her just for her to leave again by the next morning. That's what soup's doing and he don't even know it.
Just visit and post every now and again, you little bastard. Like... daily...

My father was never THAT present in my life. Always worked abroad, moved far, lived in Mexica, Florida, the North Shore of Montreal, it's all quite far when you're young lol now of course, I live on teh North Shore of Montreal too, don't see him more tho. But he is present in my life and for that I am grateful, even if our relationship was never...the best...I know my father. There are so many things I want to know but I never dare ask him. He left my mom when I was 13. There's a lot of unsaids, a lot of hypocracy. A lot of secrecy. Yet somehow, he opens up to the men-in-laws, my boyfriend and my sister's husband and we learn things that might explain all the secrecy and distance, like working for secret services. I know he makes efforts in his own way. He always said he was proud of me. But never says he loves me. He wrote it in a card once, clear as day, "Je t'aime" signed "Papa", in an Xmas card. I cried. Because it had never occured to me that he DID love me.
But even if your dad never visited you again, he did visit you. He made an effort, albeit bleak ones, those times. And it's never too late to reach out to him and ask him why and explain how you felt. But feelings are feelings and they count.
Is it better to know your dad but never see him. To never know your dad? To know him, see him, but not have the best relationship and know that he did everything to be "too busy" for you all the time?
All we can do is be better parents than ours were. And acknowledge the hurt we feel from their lack of love or seeming lack of love and / or presence in our lives. We can't change other people but we can change the way we look at it and feel about it

The real question is why does Uly think of me as a father... let alone an ex-girlfriend.
