| So for those of you who live in a closet and are fans of Dr Who tune out because spoilers and such.
Anyway apart from the episode being a little lost on me because I knew the doctor would survive (he always does). I thought it was great. But that is not why I made this thread. I made this thread for another reason.
The next season where we may possibly find out who in fact is Dr Who. Which is very interesting. Given that it's the question that could bring silence. The reason it interests me most though, is Dr who has always been present as a benevolent god like character. In fact it would not amaze me if that is Dr Who's real Name god. He is a benevolent force who can exist anywhere in any time and is presented just short of all knowing. All evil fears him and he has an unconditional love for the human race. Yet above all thing's he is flawed. Now I'm not saying he is god, although it would prove interesting if he is shown eventually in that lime light. I have another theory and that is more to do with him being one of the creator's of the Tardis.

Secondly, I loved this episode, I agree it was no surprise that he lived...but I love anything with him and River Song, I also love that they gave a nod to The Brigadeer (sp?), because RTD just totally freaking ignored him, and it was the first time ever he did not appear in Doctor Who, so it was touching that Moffat acknowledged the Brigadeers death at the beginning of the episode. I also love that he tied in things from across the board in the new seasons of Doctor Who, there was aspects of this episode I didn't care for though, it should have been a two parter and drawn out a bit, it feels rushed, but I loved that they finally showed the doctor marrying river....frankly I just love Moffat...the end.

| Out of curiousity, and crushing boredom at work today, I am curious out of the fans here in group, who is your favorite Doctor and what do you consider the best episode of all time? | |

I don't have a favourite episode. But I really liked the 9th doctor. He gave the show a real serious tone.

Christopher Eccleston brought seriousness to Doctor Who, BUT he also brought some real seriousness too. I think he brought humanity to the Doctor. In my opinion a lot of the doctor's that came before it was very apparent that the Doctor is alien (or half alien according to some sources) but Christopher Eccleston plays it off like yes he is indeed alien, but he's like all the rest of us, and yet not. So awesome. My favorite Doctor of all time though is David Tennant. I feel that he brought together all previous incarnations of The Doctor and rolled them into one. Plus having a Doctor that is actually a fan added to the appeal. My favorite episodes are The Aztecs- William Hartnell, and Blink-David Tennant. Hands down awesomeness.

Well not really but she is hot. Uhhhh this is hard. So I am going to name my favorites frome each doctor. Ian from the very first season of Doctor Who with William Hartnell. Jamie from Patrick Troughton years (though Zoe in her black catsuit has my heart as well), Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart from Jon Pertwee, Sarah Jane from Tom Baker years (though I love Romana I too), Peter Davison years no one I really can't stand Davison years they make me violent, Peri from Colin Baker years (and mainly only because she has a nice rack), Ace from Sylvestor McCoy years, Paul McGann only had one companion so I really can't comment there. Christopher Eccleston frankly Rose and Mickey were great, David Tennant I loved Donna Noble, I loved seeing her progression from a loud mouthed vapid woman to someone who lived up to her full potential and I was deeply saddened by how her character was treated upon her exit. But all that being said Amelia Pond from this season and Rory have my heart currently. I love that Amelia is both strong and weak all at once, I love that she has the PERFECT shade of red hair (of which I have a weakness for), and her love of the doctor and rory is just inspiring and heartbreaking. Rory went from being nothing to awesome, when he said "Shall I ask the question again" in a good man goes to war I got goosebumps....I should mention that seeing the TARDIS personified in Neil Gaiman's episode The Doctor's Wife was just amazing, I would have loved to see more. ooops. I totally geeked out there. I'm sorry. Doctor Who is something I am passionate about...

On a side note, you people are crazy. I hope girl-at-work isn't into dr. who so I don't have to learn all this. Then again... maybe that'd be a good thing...
