It's fun... -ish... The learning curve ain't that great once you get to it... Pretty much all the factions have the same build scheme, spare a couple differences... It's... Cumbersome, for lack of better word... By which I mean that it takes time to spread out on maps with a lot of stars...
It sorta tries to murk-up the waters of turn-based RTS games (think Total War, Galactic Civs) by getting rid of the turn-based part but keeping the scale... It succeeds... To an extent. As I said, without the turn feature, the pacing seems cumbersome and time consuming... Lets just say bigger maps are not for MP...
Graphics ain't that much of a feature, though Rebellion does up 'em up a bit... Combat's... Yes, cumbersome again, without much unit movement (neat and nice firing arcs) which for a space RTS is just... Wrong...
But I do have to admit, I like it... I still have to put Homeworld above it but SoSE does make a good argument for it's case...
