The inactivity of this forum. | Thu Apr 02, 2015 11:06 pm by Burkman | It's depressing to see how inactive it has been recently. I mean, everybody is pretty much primarily posting in the never ending thread now and there's not enough people here to make this place really booming. We need to find some way to bring more people here before this place just fades into nothingness...
I know for a fact that a lot of boards out there are thriving because of how many people are there. We just need to get back into the game and pull people here. However, where we obtain these people might matter, because we don't to end up pulling in douches like those at Selkath.
I understand that people are busy these days, but it doesn't seem like they're rarely at their computer anymore. I know most of you are still dicking around with your computer. I don't know how we …

| Okay, I'mma make this short cuz I'm sleepy and stuff.
SOME NIGGAS THINK... that parents should be present when speaking with a counselor or therapist. It's totally normal and most people(i.e. normal people) would be able to be completely open and honest about themselves with their parent(s) in the room.
Well, I say no... it should be mandatory that a therapist speaks to their patient alone and for obvious reasons... which is why THEY DO DO THAT... what do you people think?

| It actually depends on the situation... If it's personal matters, there should only be the immediate patient in the room with the shrink... If however, the therapists concludes that it's a matter involving one's family or friends, he can invite them in a group therapy session.
But even if we are talking about a minor, it should be just him/her (it?) with the therapist as children do tend to be uncomfortable when talking about certain things with their parents around...

| I don't know a single person who would speak freely in front of their parents. Everybody I know who is 30 and under would rather lie if asked about "Did they use recreational drugs?" and everybody I know 30 and takes to avoid their parents. | |

| Parents do not need to be in the room when kids speak to therapists, in fact most of the time, a therapist will insist that the parents stay outside... | |
