Thanks to the condition of the US, me and my family have to sell our house and ranch to avoid foreclosure. I have lived in that house since I was a 1 year old.

'Socialized' does not mean a link to socialism or communism. North Korea, the USSR, China and Cuba were not socialist or communist. At least not in the definition of communism (which is based off of socialism) as idealized by Marx. The USSR under Stalin was a movement of Stalinism. China was emulating the same movement under Mao (only they fucked it up cause they were trying too hard). Cuba was... confused and misled (we have the USSR to thank for that). North Korea is just weird. And no comment on Laos...

Stalinism differs from socialism in one very fundamental way:
Socialism embodies the slogan 'the people for the good of the country'; Communism kinda distorts that by making it 'the people work for the good of the country'.

Stalinism is 'the people sacrifice for Uncle Stalin'. This is exampled by one propaganda poster where Stalin's head replaces the sun over Moscow (can't actually find a link due to all the Obama shit). In comparison, Lenin was never depicted as some near-divine figure. Lenin's Russia was as true socialist as like they were to get under the circumstances (their civil war and shit). Then Stalin came along and ruined the idea for all... Stalinism is a cult of the figurehead.

Once the Cold War got into gear and Stalin got replaced by Khrushchev the whole communism/socialism idea was so distorted by Stalin's own egocentric ideals there was nothing anyone could do (they simply shot anyone who tried straying from the beaten path)...

The main reason socialism hasn't worked before is that every country that has adopted it simply skipped the capitalist phase. Socialism (as defined by Marx) is the natural next stage after the proper exhaustion of capitalism. Not a substitute. Before Lenin came along Russia was just out of a rather bloody civil war, a generally backward country with limited industrialization. Had they gone through a capitalist stage and established a stable economic backbone for a socialist phase, things could have worked quite differently. Pretty much the same thing goes for every other country that has adopted a socialist spin-off...

Socialized Healthcare is nothing to fear. It's not socialist or communist. If you thing the USSR had any form of healthcare, you're dead wrong...

We must not be on the same page... the definition of "socialized" is: To place under government or group ownership or control. Sounds oddly like communism/socialism, don't you agree?

Simply put, I was saying that no country that has adopted a form of communism or socialism has been able to live on for more than a century. Even so, the conditions of those countries are vastly different to those who live in capitalistic societies.

Making the people rely on the government for everything does not create a sustaining environment. The people are hooked on the government for help, but what if the government falls? The majority of people with no jobs, solely relying on the government, will become impoverished. In a capitalistic society, people have to work and attain jobs in order to make a living. They are self-sustaining, and can survive for the most part if a catastrophe strikes, economically or militarily.

I believe the key to solving this mess is to increase competition for insurance companies, and make more incentives to lower your prices or attain a number of people, and etc,. The state and the church can provide for those who are poverty-stricken, but the national government should have no say in ordering us to buy health care, or be forced onto a shitty government program.

It has NOTHING to do with it being related to "socialized" or "socialism"...

In fact I would love for everyone to have access to medical services 24/7... but IT'S NOT PRACTICAL WITH OUR CURRENT ECONOMY. On top of which I don't feel like paying for someone's medical expenses who doesn't work... and doesn't look for work. There are A LOT of lazy people over here...

And oh look... someone who thinks they know how I think... so European...

Uly demands system that places people into available positions on temporary basis and the owners may decide if they want to keep them or fire them within 30-60 day period.

EDIT: And by positions, I mean minimum-wage jobs.

Buuuut Scott you already do pay for people's health care if they don't work. Doctor's are required to treat people who enter emergency rooms by law. If everyone chips in a little bit overall you will have to pay less and the government will have to deal with less of a free rider problem.

EMS centers get funded by their insurance company (the state gov)... which is where your taxes go... in part. When they start taxing us for healthcare... it doesn't lessen taxes... it only adds onto them. And who do you think pays these taxes... the freeriders? No... we do. Because it's one more thing they'll deduct from my fucking paycheck. I'm already never going to see all that money that I pay for SS.
