It's depressing to see how inactive it has been recently. I mean, everybody is pretty much primarily posting in the never ending thread now and there's not enough people here to make this place really booming. We need to find some way to bring more people here before this place just fades into nothingness...
I know for a fact that a lot of boards out there are thriving because of how many people are there. We just need to get back into the game and pull people here. However, where we obtain these people might matter, because we don't to end up pulling in douches like those at Selkath.
I understand that people are busy these days, but it doesn't seem like they're rarely at their computer anymore. I know most of you are still dicking around with your computer. I don't know how we …
Happy New Year OT! We may be dying... BUT WE'RE STILL HERE! We had an... interesting year last year. Vice Admin Burkman is taking a long earned vacation and Uly is stepping into his position. Well... I'd have more to say but I've got other things to do atm... and oh yeah... to quote Callin... "GET A MIC YA BUM!"

You know I really wanna play Sleeping Dogs. Just so it can help me with the wait for GTA V. I have it for PC but the controls feel way too weird for me. I'm used to consoles when it comes to games like that. Surely a used copy wouldn't cost over $20...

So I beat the Sly Collection and Thieves in Time yesterday. I'm about to start the Ratchet and Clank collection...PS2 had some really underrated platformer exclusives is all I'm saying.
I have a good 150 dollars to spend on games and I'm thinking of catching up on Metal Gear Solid. But IDK yet.

Sly you say? What a coincidence, since I've just recently started playing the first of the series. I'd already beaten the second and third by the time I purchased it, so I thought I might as well play what started it all. Being such a large fan of the series I was disappointed to discover that Thieves in Time was platform exclusive to the PS3 (I do not own one myself). But I hope you've found entertainment with the game Jet. Oh, and Ratchet and Clank is also excellent I agree, playing the third one at present.

Sly 1 and 2 were some of my favorite games as a (younger) kid. They're great. Sly 1 is pretty different though. I'd have to say my favorite is the second. The third is still good but all the different characters and types of gameplay just turns it off from me. And it's shorter. Thieves in Time is great if you liked Sly 2.
I'm new to Ratchet and Clank however...I just heard it looks good, and from what I've seen I would think so :P

Sly 1 is definitely heavier on empathizing the platforming aspect of it's gameplay, I'll say. There's also the lack of a lifebar and greater consequences for not conforming to the game's requirement of being stealthy. What Sly 2 did was the expansion in variety of gameplay by allowing you to play as Murry and Bently. I'd say for the most part Sucker punch executed that successfully, every member of the triad feels different when playing as one or another. But that seemed to come at the cost of reducing the necessity of stealth. One could simply bypass enemies through combat given enough skill. Or at least that is what I recall. It's been awhile since I've played Band of Thieves.

You're pretty spot on about Sly 2. Personally, I liked the variety in the gameplay. It took out a lot of the boring minigames in the first one and despite Murray and Bentley certainly being different it didn't stray too far away from the formula for it to still be enjoyable. I forgot to mention that I also think Sly 2 has the best story out of the series.
Some of that may just be nostalgia though. Sly 1 is definitely great for what it is. There's much more emphasis on platforming and it feels like a more old school kind of game in general. My favorites probably goes something like BOT > TR > TIT (lol tit) > HAT

Take it from the massive Ratchet and Clank fan like myself, they're fantastic games and you won't regret ever playing them.
