| I've been sick... fever, sore throat, runny nose... your general kind of sick. I have work tomorrow, which sucks.
Anyway... elder scrolls online was kinda fun. The only playable faction in the beta was the ebonheart pact. I made a dunmer templar.
Very early on, you pass by these weapon racks and can choose a weapon. Doesn't matter what class you are, you can take a two-handed mace, dual axes, sword and shield, destruction staff, whatever. I took a restoration staff. (destruction staves and restoration staves are counted as two different weapon types)
So anywho, you have your class skills and weapon skills. You get one skill point every levelup and can put it in whatever. Templar class skills looked like 3 trees you could get into. Melee fighting moves, offensive spells and healing spells. The restoration staff skill tree was also healing spells.
You can wear light, medium, or heavy armor no matter what class you are. But the thing is, the heavy armor tree looked like buffs to health and armor, tanking things. Medium armor seemed to be physical dps improvements and light armor had bonuses to magicka n' such. So each armor type is kinda devoted to a role.
There were racial abilites, too. But you have to unlock those with skill points, too. Dunmer had resist fire, bonus fire damage, and an ancestor spirit that taunts enemies...
As you fight, you occasionally see things like "restoration staff increased to 3" or "heavy armor increased to 2" like any other elder scrolls game. But you don't level them up in the regular sense. Like, you don't have to let a monster beat on you to level up heavy armor, you just have to fight while wearing it.
It was kinda fun. I wouldn't expect it to be some awesome mold-breaking MMO if I were you... but it was kinda different in it's own way. I kinda wanna buy it, though...

Sorry to hear Uly... get some vitamin C from the store. Thanks for the info! Yeah this sounds closer to classic Morrowind TES with the individual weapon and skills than Skyrim with the perks and what not. Awesome! I like how it lets you choose (just like any TES game) what weapons/abilities you want with your character. Sounds really flexible for an MMO tbh. If I have the time and money I'll definitely probably try to into the game. :D

You just now saw TPB? I have a company man at work who looks and sounds a lot like Bubbles... tis great. @ Branch: I guess they don't want their tube shooter to go down as the biggest fail aspect of the game?
