They are cool... That should be reason enough... Plus some of them have an explanatory nature... So story-wise they are sorta important... Like the Arrival DLC... I bought that but never got around to playing it. Well... It's dead. Fucking. Hard... - Spoiler:
Well.. TBF when they trap you when you first get to the station you can flat out not do anything and it'll take you to the med room or whatever and sedate you (it's unavoidable anyway). Tho that last part when you're escaping and you are outside the station... @__@ It's like your shields are a soap bubble.

Specifically, are there any I should buy besides the Arrival? I mean, obviously there's no point in buying the Alternate Appearance Packs but I'm not sure whether or not things like Overlord or Kasumi would have any impact.

You should buy them because they are enjoyable, not just because of the impact on ME3.

Kasumi gives you a neat SMG, though I think it's gonna be a standard-issue one in ME3... Also, I don't know if any of the squad members from the DLC make it in ME3 full-time... But anyways, you should get the major packs, at least... The Alternative Appearance ones are also quite cool...

| Hang... Less than 3 hours away from the EU release and out of both weed and coke (the fizzy drink variety)...
Now where is that squirrel... Owes me 20 quid betting on it's fight with the spider-monkey...

| So I got to play ME3 just now... For three hours... And while I'm not going to spoil it for Bats, let me just say- best fucking experience I've ever had in my life... From what I can see up until now (I'm just at the point where we meet Garrus again), they got the best parts of the previous two games - Spoiler:
(just a heads up- there's an on-ship shop again! Yay!)
and added a whole oil liner-load of improvements... From the possibly homosexual ensign (we'll see how it turns out), to... Well... AIBO's big brother... I would have played more but my laptop was getting really hot and didn't want to risk an auto-hibernate thing (does that instead of overheating)...

| - Spoiler:
Ok... So lets see... Your ships' ensign is potentially homosexual, your shuttle pilot's grieving a dead husband and Garrus and Liara seem to have something going... Just how long has Shepard been under house arrest?
