Hey Jet/Gaming Misfit, question for you.

You know, I've always wondered that myself...



So tell us Jet... Why?

I started out as Jetbounty (first forum I stuck with for a while) at the old OT. After that I just didn't like the ring of it. So I tried to think of a title to do some reviews with (originally starting out as Misfit Gamer). Later it changed to Gaming Misfit.

My name, Buddy Burkman, was originally the title of a song by Buckethead. The Ballad of Buddy Berkman, only Berkman was spelled like that with an 'e'. I changed it to a 'u', because I thought it looked better. I've been going by that name ever since.

I've wondered whether there was any connection for a while...

Anyways, my alter's origins: (and it's a long one)

Guess the first concept of the BananaDealer goes as far as my joining the Lionhead Studios' forums around the first Fable game... Back then, it was KillingMonkey, which was intended as a Hitman, had he decided to deal with his baldness issues using expired Mexican anti-baldness drugs... Lionhead's was the first forum I strolled around it, I was part of the General Discussion, as well as a frequent Off-Topicer. I was also trying to get my first attempt at writing big-scale fantasy going (you can find the failed drafts on my dA page, somewhere)...
I ended up leaving the Lionhead forum due to getting bored with Fable, plus there never was the type of bond I feel with you guys...
Anyways, I crashed around at the Egosoft (X-Universe games) forum for a while. There I used Killing Monkey again, but the concept of the banana-dealing chimp came to be. THAT forum I left after my break up with my first girlfriend, though I still visit it sometimes- when I feel like updating my mods folder for X-3.

BananaDealer became my standard alter when I made my STEAM account, where apparently somethere had already taken KillingMonkey (the bastard)...

For a while the two- the Egosoft KillingMonkey and the STEAM BananaDealer, ran together as I pretty much made my STEAM account so I could get X3 Terran Conflict.

After dropping off the Egosoft forum, I stayed out of Internet communities for awhile, not counting dA.

And then I joined the TORums... And you pretty much know the rest...
In any case, Causa's OT Cantina really helped form and finalize my alter into a complete character. That being a bad-ass, somewhat grudging (due to his past), gun-slinging shadow of a space-cowboy... Something like Aragorn from the Tolkien books... Only with two blasters instead of a broken sword... Though Strider has never played a big part in the concept...

For my time on EVE, the first time there... I don't really recall what I used as a nickname... Think it had something to do with Monkey or Chimp. or something (I like the little buggers)... The second, significantly shorter (a couple of weeks) time, I used BananaDealer...


As for my dA alter, and the one before it:

My actual first tag-name was Ryoka, coined by a friend in high school after he started watching Bleach (and managed to get me into it). Ryoka means 'scoundrel' or general ne'er-do-'ell in Japanese and is frequently used in the Bleach anime... So I used that name, along with the Katakana (a Japanese writing style) version of the letter R, when I was drawing or hand-writing stuff.

Then I made a DeviantArt account, but Ryoka was taken (along with pretty much ever version of it- Rioka-kun, Ryoka-san, Rioka-dono, etc.). So I chose Akutou, which means pretty much the same thing- a guy not particularly on the same page with the law. I've been using it ever since, the signature being the U letter in Japanese Katakana...

I do not recognize this... Gaming Misfits...

How did you get the name Gay-Ming Meesh-Feet? Was it inspired from a work of literature? Please enlighten me.

The name I usually use, and had originally here, is Morrigan Sage.... basically very long story short, I have had an obsession with religion and spirtuality since I was very very young... and I experimented with different beliefs and what not. So in my mispent youth I spent a very long time practicing Wicca. When you become part of a coven you have to chose a new name for yourself a "magical name" which basically is something that inspires you.... So I chose the name of my favorite goddess, Morrigan, who is a Celtic goddess of battle, strife, and fertility, she is also sometimes portrayed as a triple goddess, which I as a teen mother could relate too on different levels. I fought my own battles, dealt with my own fertility and faced soooo many obstacles. I also knew what it felt like to be the maiden, the mother and the crone, even though I was only 16. I was a kid, I was a mother, and I felt so old beyond my years... so yeah. and Sage is for wisdom.... when I came here I started out as Morrigan Sage.... but then Spanky convinced me I should be Mistress Morrigan.... for his own purposes...

Hmmm... Maiden, Mother and Crone? Might try George Martin's Seven, the religion he uses in his books 'A Song of Ice and Fire'...

I couldn't think of anything clever in the month of July 2009. so... yeah. the name kinda stuck. thought of making an alt at one time, but I didn't like the idea.

I got Emochu from EG mad and he called me Gay-Ming Mii-shit. Since then we've been making random adaptions of it.

Uuh.. I played this game called Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem for gamecube... and stole Ulyaoth from that...
