The inactivity of this forum. | Thu Apr 02, 2015 11:06 pm by Burkman | It's depressing to see how inactive it has been recently. I mean, everybody is pretty much primarily posting in the never ending thread now and there's not enough people here to make this place really booming. We need to find some way to bring more people here before this place just fades into nothingness...
I know for a fact that a lot of boards out there are thriving because of how many people are there. We just need to get back into the game and pull people here. However, where we obtain these people might matter, because we don't to end up pulling in douches like those at Selkath.
I understand that people are busy these days, but it doesn't seem like they're rarely at their computer anymore. I know most of you are still dicking around with your computer. I don't know how we …

| Either copy/paste the plot of one of the post-ROTJ EU fictions or at least something that doesn't contradict or retcon them. | |

| It would be hard to come up with an original plot with all the EU that's out there. I'd like them to skip to the Legacy era and have Cade Skywalker the main character.
If you're asking me "What if you had free reign of Star Wars and you could start a plot regardless of relevance to previous material?" Things could get interesting, and I would be throwing some of my personal characters in.

Things could get interesting, and I would be throwing some of my personal characters in. I don't think they would jump straight to the Legacy Era... After all, not considering hardcore Star Wars fans, most people aren't really aware of what happens past the second time the Death Star blows up... And this being modern film-making (and Disney), they'll probably not want to make a niche-audience film... They would most probably just play the 'skip 20 years since the last plot-line' card, like they did for the previous movies...

IDK if they would skip over all of the Remnant stuff. Like I said... I'd like to see one about Kyle Katarn... but they would most likely want to stick to the characters that everyone knows. IDK how they are going to wright an original script with all the current material out there and not dun goof something up.

| You don't understand, mister man. They likely don't give two fucks that there's books out. Probably 1% of people who have seen the movies have read the books. They'll start off with luke skywalker just after the ewok party on uh.... endor?... Any already established lore be damned. | |

Im going to have to agree. Though GL has tried to care about the books, he likes his own stuff in TCW. It has some good moments and some EU chars, but he had an influence in the story and whatnot. But it shows, unless the people making it are HUGE Star Wars fans and readers then its gonna retcon a shit ton.

| I'd like to see the NEW JEDI ORDER because a lot goes on in there. WIth Chewie dying and the 3 Solo kids and Yuuzhan-Vong war.
LEGACY SERIES too, the whole Jacen Solo turning into Darth Caedus thing and Ben Skywalker growing up.
I'd also like to see FATE OF THE JEDI with the Lost Tribe of the Sith.
Bot those could be later movies.
7-8-9 HAVE to include the 3 Solo kids.

| In my mind when I used to picture 7-8-9 I had the main focus be on Anakin Solo's kid, who has grew up apprenticed to Kir Kanos and lead a new crimison empire intent on destroying both the New Republic and Imperial Remnant. | |

| in all honesty it would have to been all new characters. Harrison Ford will never replay Han Solo. Carrie Fisher does not fit the Leia role anymore. Mark Hammil would probably do an aged Luke, but probably only as a mentor type role. they all aint as young as they used to be.
So just make a new character, set em in an established section of the Lore, and start writing the movie around it.
For example: Fade in on Star Ship flying in space (as all star wars films should start lol) down towards a planet. Have Luke searching for a person. Once he finds that person he takes em to his new Jedi Academy.
So basically start from scratch. Would be best for the next generation of Star Wars fans and the only way you wont alienate the older generations.
and i would still LOVE to see an X Wing TV series...

and i would still LOVE to see an X Wing TV series... Why wouldn't Ford play Solo? I mean... Yes, he's old as fuck now and all that, but he agreed to another Indiana Jones movie... And actually, who said it has to be after the last movies? It could be about Solo's earlier years or something... If on him at all... It could be on the Second Galactic Civil War... I dunno... So much of the established lore focuses on the 'main' characters... I really don't see a movie taking place after the original trilogy without them...
