The inactivity of this forum. | Thu Apr 02, 2015 11:06 pm by Burkman | It's depressing to see how inactive it has been recently. I mean, everybody is pretty much primarily posting in the never ending thread now and there's not enough people here to make this place really booming. We need to find some way to bring more people here before this place just fades into nothingness...
I know for a fact that a lot of boards out there are thriving because of how many people are there. We just need to get back into the game and pull people here. However, where we obtain these people might matter, because we don't to end up pulling in douches like those at Selkath.
I understand that people are busy these days, but it doesn't seem like they're rarely at their computer anymore. I know most of you are still dicking around with your computer. I don't know how we …

Happy New Year! | Wed Jan 02, 2013 2:56 pm by Scott | Happy New Year OT! We may be dying... BUT WE'RE STILL HERE! We had an... interesting year last year. Vice Admin Burkman is taking a long earned vacation and Uly is stepping into his position. Well... I'd have more to say but I've got other things to do atm... and oh yeah... to quote Callin... StarCraft II PTR issue
Dear Tech Support, I recently entered Beta participation and I seem to be having trouble entering the StarCraft II PTR. When I ran the normal client for the game, it updated to 1.5.3. I then ran the "Public Test.exe", as per the FAQ, but it still ended up running the normal (WoL) launcher and the normal (WoL) client. The FAQ states that a patch would be required, but there is no patching undertaken whatsoever. More to the point, when I look around my install dir, it's lacking the /Test folder, which as the FAQ states is where everything Beta is stored. How do I proceed in order to get the Beta HotS client running?
Thank you and all the best, Ivo Ivanov a.k.a BananaDealer

Hey there.
Thank you for your inquiry regarding the StarCraft II Public Test Region (PTR). The PTR is intended to be a public testing environment for future StarCraft II patches and development. A US Region StarCraft II account is required for access to the StarCraft II PTR.
Note that, due to the nature of the PTR, we are unable to provide any assistance with the setup or running of the PTR client or services. We do, however, encourage you to post on the StarCraft II Public Test Region Forum: http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/. Here you can discuss the PTR with others as well as review patch notes and various information. Note that the PTR Forum is only available during limited timeframes, mirroring the PTR's availability.
Additional questions and answers can be located on the StarCraft II Public Test Region FAQ: http://us.blizzard.com/support/article/sc2ptr. Thank you for your interest in helping make our games better and more bug-free!
Regards,
Game Master Allaidya Customer Support Blizzard Entertainment www.battle.net/support
My answer: - Spoiler:
Hey there Customer Service Rep, Your FAQ on the PTR states that the PTR is accessible by, and I quote: "Players from the following regions are able to participate in the StarCraft II Public Test Region; North America, Latin America, Europe, Russia, Korea (18+ only), Taiwan, and South East Asia. All types of StarCraft II accounts are eligible for access to the PTR including unlimited time accounts, limited time accounts, guest pass accounts, and starter edition accounts." This would mean either of two things: A) Your response is invalid, you have no idea what's happening and you're just trying to save face. and/or B) The FAQ is outdated, misinforming or otherwise flawed. Both of those should make not only you, but the entirety of the Blizz Support staff feel bad, guilty and otherwise inferior.
In any case, thank you for a response that provides absolutely no helpful information (and no information whatsoever). Please, have a nice day!
Kind regards, BananaDealer
My account got locked afterwards. I had to change my password due to 'suspicious activity'...

| Ban, surely by now that you'd know that Blizzard Support is totally unreliable. I wrote a letter once about an issue I had that only Blizzard could fix, but they sent back the same kind of response. They're all useless, I tell you. | |

I know.. It's still fun trolling them around... It's more helpful to ask other people on the blizzard forums, but... back when I was playing WoW, I avoided the WoW forums because everyone is a dickmunch there. I ended up solving my problem by myself because I can't rely on anyone.
It had something to do with the WoW PTR when they were releasing a major update.

Greetings Ivo,
Thanks for contacting us! This is Sean with Blizzard Customer Support. I know that the wait was rather ...long, and I'm sorry about that. We're overloaded at the moment, though we're doing our best to work on it. I appreciate your sticking around for us.
I understand your frustration your frustration with the last reply. However, Blizzard Customer Support cannot provide any support for the test realms. The PTR is, in essence, an unfinished product with a high chance of being broken and that's constantly changing. This means that we do not support it in any fashion.
Your best bet is to ask for help on our Beta forum here: http://eu.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/5818264/. The people there are very good at troubleshooting these issues and will do their best to help you out. :)
If you have any other questions, please feel free to reply to this ticket.
Regards,
Account & Technical Services Rep. Sean M. Customer Services Blizzard Entertainment http://battle.net/support
So, what'd y'all say- should I really take this to the PTR forums?

| So I checked the Blizz Forums... As expected- the problem appears to be like the fucking plague and Blizz is, unsurprisingly, sitting with their hands firmly stuck up their asses... | |
