New Guild Info EmptyThu Apr 02, 2015 11:06 pm by Burkman
It's depressing to see how inactive it has been recently. I mean, everybody is pretty much primarily posting in the never ending thread now and there's not enough people here to make this place really booming. We need to find some way to bring more people here before this place just fades into nothingness...

I know for a fact that a lot of boards out there are thriving because of how many people are there. We just need to get back into the game and pull people here. However, where we obtain these people might matter, because we don't to end up pulling in douches like those at Selkath.

I understand that people are busy these days, but it doesn't seem like they're rarely at their computer anymore. I know most of you are still dicking around with your computer. I don't know how we …

Happy New Year OT! We may be dying... BUT WE'RE STILL HERE! We had an... interesting year last year. Vice Admin Burkman is taking a long earned vacation and Uly is stepping into his position. Well... I'd have more to say but I've got other things to do atm... and oh yeah... to quote Callin... "GET A MIC YA BUM!"

PostNew Guild Info

Hello there! As you all probably know, the guild is in need of some new members of our council, as our VP was recently removed, and half of our council is inactive as well 👅 . On a better note, Meat, Grim, and I have been talking and decided what we're going to do. At least, to decide VP. After a vote, we've come up with a few candidates to run for Vice President in an election, where all of you will be able to vote on who you want for VP. The Poll to decide who will be VP will be going up tomorrow morning, but here's your candidates so you can begin thinking who you might want to vote for: Causa, Daroska, and TheMortonator. Thats all for now.

I've got two questions. Will the votes for VP be public, or private? And second of all, are the council spots available?

There will be council spots available, yes, but they will be decided after the VP is decided, as the VP and President usually decide on council members.

They will be private, to all, but the admins.

Ask to be a candidate for Vice President? No, the council will be choosing the candidates for Vice President.

Ask to be a candidate for a council member? You can ask, but we're still deciding how to pick replacement council members.

The VP actually does something (Or is supposed to) Here, this is our entire guild constitution... you can view the VP section for details.

History of the Off-Topic

The Off-Topic Discussion is a section of the SWTOR forums that
is possibly the most tight-knit section of the forums. We have all become good friends, and this will allow our Guild to flourish and become one to be reckoned with. We have advanced since we started back in November, and our guild will continue to progress.

Leadership

President

The President is the acting executive, though most powers are
in case of emergency. Presides over leadership councils, can
temporarily dismiss anyone during a meeting of leadership, if
they are being especially disruptive, this allows the President to remove any member of the council for a set amount of time, depending on how disruptive the member is being. After a second
dismissal, they may not vote on the issue. No two dismissals
may run concurrently, but the president also has the power to
adjourn a meeting or call a recess.

Shares power of War Declaration with representatives.
Has power of State of Emergency Declaration. President’s vote may count for two votes, meaning that a bill
needs less of the council’s vote to pass (These bills may be later challenged.)Nominates
emissaries and ambassadors for council review. If the emissaries or ambassadors are not meeting their duties, the President has the right to suspend them pending an investigation from the leadership council. Can veto any action of other individual councilors, or if need be, an entire idea. This may be later reopened if the vice president and three councilors agree. Shares power to appoint representatives with Vice President.

Emergency powers:
May remove any leader’s ability to vote during a meeting unless
opposed by a majority

Vice President

The Vice President carries out the duties of the president,
should he not be able to. Presides over disciplinary action, though if this action gets too extreme the President and/or council may intervene and temporarily remove this power.
Shares power with representatives to appoint emissaries
and ambassadors nominated by the president. Presides over
elections and calls all council votes except war declaration and
his or her own removal, unless two other council members
declare their judgment unsound. If most of the council
demands a vote, one must be called.
Shares power with president to appoint representatives.

Emergency powers:
Can impose a special investigation on anyone or any part of
the guild.
May impose special sanctions on all non-council members of
the guild without investigation.

Representatives

In addition to the President and Vice President, an assembly
of four representatives takes part in this guild’s government.
Their responsibilities are to represent the people of the guild
section they represent. Though they hold an appointed office,
given to them by the President and Vice president, they are to
vote impartially without any sense or feeling of being beholden
to anyone but those that they represent. The President and Vice President may either appoint these representatives, or if they feel so inclined, they may hold an election for one or more representatives. After an election is started, the President and Vice President may not intervene unless substantial evidence is given to say that the election has been compromised. (Compromised is explained by one of the people nominated appears to be a spy, or would significantly injure the Alliance. It also means if the election appears stacked in some way, or that one of the nominees turns out to have cheated. If it is suspected that any of these representatives has lost their ability to act in the best interests, the President and or Vice President has the right to suspend a representative, and if evidence is supplied, dismiss them from the leadership council.

Emergency Powers:
None per se, but if all of the representatives agree on a matter, their power shall expand to having abilities to declare war, declare a state of emergency, or end either of the previously mentioned acts. They may also vote to begin an investigation, which can include investigation of the President and/or vice presidents acts.

Organization

Recruitment

The OT Guild will have little restrictions to join. Any age,
class, time-zone, whatever you will be accepted as long as
you have a mature attitude and respect all players of this
or any guild. This Guild is also not restricted to OT members.
Anyone can join from any part of the forums. To join post
your application in this thread or contact Matieu or Branch.

Expectations

Do to this being the OT Guild, it will have low set expectations
and will be not as strict as other guilds. But do note when we
see you doing something extremely wrong we, as in the
President and VP, will take action no matter what. If any
harmful things are said to anyone in-game or on the forums
you will get one warning, but after that if you repeat this
behavior you will be kicked out of the guild.

Clarifications

A State of Emergency is a situation in which the fate of the Guild, or many members in the Guild, is compromised. After a day of emergency, the leadership council must meet in order to agree to continue the state of emergency, or it will end. Emergency powers given to the President in a state of emergency includes emergency powers.

Emergency powers are the following.
1) Any member of the leadership council may be removed, without investigation, for up to three days.
2) The power to declare war is given, allowing three days of war before the council needs to vote to confirm.
3) Emergency acts may be passed without a majority of the council's agreement, allowing new rules and policies to be instated. Within three days, the President must either have a council vote in order to confirm these policies, or produce evidence that these new acts must be kept in place.

Disciplinary Action is a suspension of the rights of a member of the guild, or if they are a council member, removal of the rights to participate in meetings and lose their position of authority until an investigation is done on the member. This Action cannot last more then a day before an investigation is done. If no investigation is done in the allowed time, the disciplinary action will be undone until such investigation can be done.

Special Investigation includes any or all of the following.
1) Questioning the person(s) for whom the investigation is revolving around.
2) Questioning known friends or allies of those under investigation.
3) Looking into previous actions done by the member, these may be used in order to decide a punishment if the member under investigation is found guilty, but should not have sway in the current investigation.
4) Watching the members actions for up to three days to find further evidence.
