| So I been workin out lately and by lately I mean since thursday... anyway, all I have are these 8 lb. dumbbells to work with... I been liftin 'em till I can't take it anymore, wait an hour or so and do it again.
I do like... straight up curls for my biceps... then sorta reverse it over my head for triceps... then lift my arms straight out with them for deltoids. Then wait till I'm not sore anymore and do it again. Do you think I'd see any results like that?
All I got are these 8 lb. ones... I suppose you'd tell me to leave the house and buy weights or something. But that means I gotta leave the house... and go to a place... with people... and talk to those people... you know I don't do that. | |

The idea is to tear and build muscle... 8 lbs wont do anything for you. Go to Target or Walmart... they usually have moddable dbs that allow you to add a variety of weight to work with. They aren't that expensive either. Try and find one that goes up to 50 lbs. When you lift... don't do more than about 20 reps of a single weight. If you can do 20 bump up the weight. I usually bump up weight with each set I do about 5 lbs and do them in decreasing increments 20 reps, 15 reps, 10 reps (I usually only do 3 sets of any one specific exercise at one time). By the last 10 reps you should barely be able to lift them. Remember to flex as you do it because it tears more muscle. And lastly remember to breathe each rep. I'd say 80% of a good work out is how you breath during it. Of course this is all moot if you don't eat right and give your body enough protein. | |

| That doesn't mean go and eat a shit ton of fast food. You have to stretch properly as well, or else you're going to pull something. That happened to me once. The thing about working out is that if you're sore, that means it's working.
I have workouts every day of the week except for Wednesday and the weekends (Saturday and Sunday). Monday works mostly arms, Tuesdays are sprints, Wednesdays are break days, Thursdays work the whole body and I consider that day to be my least favorite, and Fridays are a 2+ mile long run. Rinse and repeat the following weeks. Usually, after we stretch we go for a short warm-up run. After each day of working out, we stretch one last time and go for another last run and then we're done.
And remember, ALWAYS drink water when you're working out. Take sips and don't chug the water. These days, I'm drinking nothing but water. Sometimes I drink soda and shit for rewards during the weekend, but I would prefer to drink water, because I don't want my teeth to rot out of my head... | |

| My workout plan has been the same for the past 2 years. Mondays are upper body, Tuesdays are lower body, Wednesday is max prepare day, Thursday is full-body, Friday is a less vigorous full body day (More of a maintenance day), Saturday and Sunday are recovery days which involve shit tons of calories and proteins and swimming.
My Monday and Tuesday workouts focus on a lot of rack work. With a shit load of auxiliaries. Bench and squat uses the same Rep and set scheme, which varies. Most times it is low reps and high sets to focus on power. But will occasionally add in 1x10 3x12 schemes in some weeks. The percentages range from 75%-85% on regular days. When it is almost time for official max days at my school I will do EXTREMELY low reps, with a very high percentage, usually ranging from 90%-100%. My auxiliary work is 2x10 most of the time. On Mondays these are mostly bicep and tricep works.
This is how my normal Monday workout goes: (Didn't include fillers because those change all the time.)
Notice: 1st number is amount of sets, second is amount of reps
Jump rope: 2 minutes
Bench: 1x10 (Warmup), 2x8, 2x6, 1x5 Incline bench press: 2x8, 1x5 Close-grip bench press: 2x10 Power press: 2x5 Bent-over row: 2x10
Then we move on to auxiliary work
Dumbbell work: 2x10 on all moves Lat pull: 2x10 dumbbell shrug: 2x10 Dumbbell bench & Incline: 2x10 Straight bar curls: 2x10 Shoulder work: Go until shoulders are even deader than before Dips: 1x10 Maybe add in some pull-ups Push-ups: 5x10 (These are a bitch too do when your already tired as hell)
And that's about it, I went with my normal upper body workout because not many people like hearing about lower-body workouts are much. But my lower-body workouts make me fucking dead. DEAD. Nobody likes squat day, that's why most people don't do it.
